The challenge is to get from your doorstep to Saunton Sands in North Devon by any means possible WITHOUT using an engine, to arrive on Sunday 14th September. You MUST take with you, something to catch a wave with and get sponsored!

(So you’ve agreed to do the challenge, but how on earth do you get your body board to the beach? Why not use the catchily named ‘Just a walk to the beach bike body board carrier’ (patent not pending!)?)

If walking or cycling is not your bag, why not ‘just swim to the beach? Now we don’t expect you to hop in a river so here’s the deal - do your miles in your local pool. To make it even easier we came up with this formula (we call it the Zughaid Formula) Calculate how many miles it is from your house to the beach (we suggest a route planner) and so you are not hogging your local pool for the whole of the summer, take the number of miles and turn them into lengths, so 400 miles become 400 lengths. Easy!

Now you have your personal swimming challenge, work out the time period over which you will complete the lengths (a week, a month or maybe more) and all you need to do is get sponsored, spit into those goggles and dive in.

But what if you have been left holding the baby (literally or metaphorically) and your partner has grabbed a board, fastened their cycling clips and can’t be seen for dust?

Why not join us for the 10K round walk on the Sunday 14th September. Pack your buggy, make a sandwich and walk, toddle and push your way along Saunton Sands around the 'shell' and then back. Get sponsored or make a donation, it’s up to you.
